当你外出旅行或者出门走走时，经常会说“压马路”，英文里也有类似的表达，那就是hit the road。它是“上路或者开始流浪(to leave or start a journey)”的意思，而不是字面上的“砸马路”。

We hit the road before sunrise.

我们在日出前上路了。

这里的hit是“到达，去”的意思，而不是我们常用的“撞击，打”。

hit作为动词，含义丰富，下面我们一起来学习一下我们都可以hit什么吧。

1、hit the nail on the head说得中肯，一针见血

你钉过钉子么，如果不熟练，往往左敲敲右敲敲，钉歪了也钉不进去，但是熟练的工人却能正对着钉子头敲下去，一锤到底。而会说话的人就像熟练的工人，能十分精准地表达自己的观点。因此这个词组就用来形容人的话一针见血，毫不含糊。

Your criticism really hit the nail on the head.

你的批评的确一针见血。

2、hit the ceiling/roof

怒气冲天，都顶到天花板了，所以是大发雷霆，勃然大怒的意思。

Ranieri returned, saw the mess, and hit the roof.

拉涅利回来了，看到混乱的场面，大发雷霆。

3、hit the headlines

成为新闻头条，被大肆宣传，也可以说grab the headlines。

The couple hit the headlines last year when their relationship broke down.

这对夫妇去年因关系破裂而上了头条。

4、hit the bottle

不是字面上的撞击瓶子，而是酗酒的意思，也可以说take to the bottle。

After Sheila left him, Judd hit the bottle pretty hard.

希拉离开他以后，贾德开始酗酒。

5、hit the hay/sack

hay是干草、草料，sack是麻布。这两个短语都可以表达“就寝，睡觉”的意思，来源于人们睡在草料/麻布上的那个年代。

Your husband needs to relax before he hits the sack.

你丈夫需要在睡觉前放松一下。

6、hit the spot

spot是靶心，正中靶心，也就是我们常说的正中要害。所以是使人满足，正合需要，恰到好处的意思。

A cool glass of beer would really hit the spot. 

一杯冰啤酒正合我意。
